The XR Spherical breaks with the conventional expectations of a road helmet. Not only the performance on the road was the focus of development, the helmet was also optimized for off-road use on the gravel bike.

Technologies
MIPS Spherical®
MIPS Spherical is a refinement and evolution of the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS). With this sophisticated design, two layers of EPP foam fit together like a ball-and-socket. This system helps protect the brain from rotational energy by allowing up to 10- to 15- millimetes of relative motion between the helmet and head during the first milliseconds of an impact.
Float Fit
Bell’s most advanced helmet fitting system combines comfort and safety in an ultra-lightweight design. Float Fit™ optimizes the fit of the helmet in 2 ways – in terms of head circumference and vertical adjustment. To reduce weight and simplify handling, the guide arms uniquely enclose the back of the head thanks to the «float» design. This puts the helmet in an ideal position on the head. Simple, light and comfortable.
In-Mold
With In-Mold construction, the tough polycarbonate outer shell is bonded to the impact-absorbing EPS inner shell in one step while it foams. This makes the helmet even more resistant without adding weight. This production process also makes it possible to form significantly better ventilation systems and vents. In-Mold helmets are therefore lighter than traditional helmets and have significantly better ventilation systems.
Overbrow Ventilation
Deep air intakes above the forehead bring cooling air into the helmet, which is guided around the head by a matrix of air ducts and ensures a holistically cool helmet climate.
